Banana Nut Cookies

Makes 30 cookies

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
1 1/3 cups mashed banana (4 bananas)
1 tsp vanilla
2/3 cup chopped walnuts
Cream cheese frosting-
4 oz cream cheese, softened
2 Tbsp butter, softened
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
Walnut halves, for garnish (optional)

Sift together flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
Cream butter with sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs. Beat well.
Mix mashed banana and vanilla into butter mixture. Stir in flour mixture. Add chopped walnuts.
Drop batter by heaping teaspoons onto ungreased baking sheets.
Bake at 375 F for 10 minutes. Cool completely on wire racks.
For frosting, beat cream cheese, butter and vanilla until smooth. Add powdered sugar. Beat until soft and creamy.
Spread on top of cooled cookies. Garnish with walnut halves, if desired.
