Gingersnaps (Barb Nysetvold)

1 ½ cups butter
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
½ cup molasses
4 cups flour
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp soda
2 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. salt
Mix butter, sugar, eggs and molasses. Combine dry ingredients. Add to butter mixture. Form into balls. Roll in sugar. Put on cookie sheets. Smash with a fork. Bake at 350º F for 10-15 minutes. Do not overcook.
